Before you can reap the benefits of a smart assistant, it’s important to set up your environment properly. Log in or create your ChatGPT account and upgrade to Plus. The Plus plan gives you longer conversations, access to advanced models and more powerful research tools.
Spend a few minutes exploring the interface: the model selector lets you choose how the assistant thinks; the left sidebar holds your chats, projects and custom GPTs; and the paperclip icon allows you to attach files like PDFs, Word docs and spreadsheets.
Teach ChatGPT about who you are and how you work. In the Personalization settings, describe your role (a Toshiba copier sales professional), your networking group (We Refer You) and the kind of tone you prefer (warm, clear and not pushy). Specify how you like responses formatted—for example, two subject lines and two email lengths.
Turn on Memory so ChatGPT remembers recurring facts such as your territory, typical customer profile and favourite sign‑off. Check your memories occasionally and clear any that are outdated. And always keep sensitive information out of your chats—avoid passwords, Social Security numbers and confidential client data.
